Regional Training Office

The Northern Virginia Falls Prevention Regional Training Office (RTO) was created in August 2016 in an effort to provide ongoing training and support for leaders of evidence-based falls prevention programs across northern Virginia. The RTO periodically hosts training workshops for A Matter of Balance, Stay Active and Independent for Life, and provides vouchers for an online Otago training. The RTO serves as a resource for trained leaders in the region by providing assistance in a number of ways including:

  • Mentor-ship

  • Annual update workshops

  • Refresher courses

  • Master trainer visits

  • Support with participant recruitment and publicity of programs.

The RTO is housed within the Malek School of Health Professions at Marymount University.
